The Falcon Retreat has a rather unusual past. It is literally steeped in local history.

All the materials which make up the stunning building are recycled from a nearby chapel the original owner had purchased.

Sue bought "The Falcon" 2015 with a vision to make it as eco friendly as possible, all building work has been carried out using the most eco friendly materials as possible.  All of our supplies are either re-cyclable or re-fillable, we use eco-friendly detergents and ask our guests to be mindful of our policies and recycle as much as they can.

We are proud to announce that we have recently registered with   GREEN TOURISM  and have had Solar PV panels recently fitted which enables over 70% of our electricity to be GREEN.

We will in future be looking at bio mass and other ways we can reduce our CO2 emissions as much as possible.

Because this corner of the Cynon Valley is home to some spectacular scenery. Just a short drive down a tree-lined lane and you arrive at The Falcon Retreat, our hidden little gem down by the River Aman.

We are ideally situated on the edge of the bustling market town of Aberdare, on the borders of the Brecon Beacons National Park, with Bike Park Wales and Zip World Tower close by.

The Welsh Capital, Cardiff, Swansea and the Gower coast are 40 to 45 minutes’ drive away.
